Review: Unif So Called Boots + Solestruck

So this time we're back with the Unif So Called Boots! Similar to Erica's Unif Gosh boots, it has that Unif Signature metal plate on the back of the heel except the So Called reaches mid-calf. Pretty much we have the Gosh boot's big sister. All leather with a synthetic sole, 3"heel and 1" platform.
Stats & Review:
Solestruck
So Called Boots
Pricing: 8/10. The boots itself was at a good sale price $76 USD if I recall correctly. I bought these along with another pair of boots last year so the price will differ as the aus dollar as fallen since then :'(. Other than their big sales, Solestruck can be pretty pricey.
Packaging and Delivery - 7/10. I'm not sure how I feel about Solestruck's policy of no shoe boxes unless you pay an extra 15USD. I'm not sure if this applies to US customers but it does for international customers. Thankfully its free shipping to Aus when you spend over $99 but this of course excludes shoe boxes. They have a small list of countries that have free shipping for over $99 orders.
Customer Service (CS) - ? I haven't contacted CS as I never had an issue with their orders so I can't really comment on this.
Word of Advice on Solestruck -
Nothing negative however I have been shopping on Solestruck for a few years or so now and they haven't had any big sales this year like they usually do... Maybe one will come soon but during their sales they generally have take an extra 50% on sale items.
Unif - So Called:
Size - US 5
Colour - Black
Packaging - 10/10. Came with some foamy dust bag  and shoe stuffing. The usual.
Fitting - I'm usually a US 4.5 but these fit me fine. All the sites says it runs true to size (TTS) and it probably does.
Comfort - 8/10. Definitely very comfortable but the zippers can get pretty annoying as they fall down at times especially when you run. This is a commonality between all my unif shoes... if they have zippers they just unzip themselves ==.
That's it for the So Called! Now for our next boot review... Armada, Choke or Gosh?

Till then

Review: Unif Alec Boots + Nasty Gal

Back with a review. This time on one of my favourite brand UNIF's Alec Boots (left). I will be doing a review of the Armada boots later (right)  I just haven't worn it as much as the Alec and tying those laces is way more consuming than it needs to be, especially for my usual uni run to the station.
On wards to the deets, from the UNIF site the Alec has a 2.5" heel and a 1.5" platform in the front. Its definitely 100% leather and 'runs true to size (TTS) '.
You can check it all out, with some further stock shots @https://www.unifclothing.com/products/alec-boot
Check out our instagram @8ateam for more shots. I wish I had to time to post all my outfit shots on here but I don't thus instagram. So check it out!
I haven't uploaded our shots from this shoot but its coming with all the deets soon.
Stats & Review:
Nasty Gal (NG):
Pricing: 7/10. The pricing was okay. Nastygal was having a massive sale when I purchased these boots. The only reason I got them for a decent price was due to the fact I had some credit at Nastygal but aside from that the pricing on Nastygal is generally pretty darn exp $$$. I got the Armada boots in the same order.
Packaging and Delivery - 8/10. Came in a massive box with some bubble bags inside. The usual.
Customer Service (CS) - 5/10. In contrast to the experience I had with NG previously, the CS was horrible this time. Pretty much I had two orders and one of them got cancelled. The whole order was cancelled. I'm not one to rage but this time it pissed me off as I wasted a lot of my time taking items in and out. So I contacted CS and explained the situation and my disappointment. All I got was a generic apology and it wasn't even if the CS assistant cared, the way she replied was just so blunt and rude. I honestly wish I could've gave their CS a better rating based on previous experiences.
Word of Advice on NG -
I placed two orders, a day after the other and my second order was cancelled. NOT just ONE item it was all of them! I had like 4 items or something. It wasn't just me, there were heaps of customers also complaining about this on Facebook. I was really upset because I had just wasted so much time choosing the items I wanted and it gets cancelled. Sometimes these things can't be helped but really, all of my items got cancelled. As a company that is a online based store, they really shouldn't have out of stock items as in stock.
Unif - Alec Boots:
Size - US 5
Colour - Black
Packaging - 10/10. Came with some foamy dust bag  and shoe stuffing.
Fitting - I'm usually a US 4.5 but these fit me pretty perfectly. The Alec most likely runs half a size smaller, I also saw this stated from other reviews as well. So lucky me.
Comfort - 8/10. The zips can get a tad uncomfortable here and there. Its best to be worn with longer socks.

Let me know if you have any questions! I'll be happy to answer them.
I'll also post up an outfit with them on soon.

Till next time!

Ash

A Visit to Lovers Markets & Parramatta + Papparich

Well enough of that, its time for an update on our recent adventures.

This time we headed to the Alice McCall Sample Sale. It was a last minute decision that made me rethink what really is a sample sale. Safety pins and all. I'll say it all soon, visuals first!

Review: Y.R.U Clueless boots - Asos

I've been meaning to post but I always end up starting new posts yet forgetting to actually finalise and posting them. So I've got a few sitting on draft at the moment. Hopefully I'll get some more up this week but as we all know, uni finals are upon us and its time to actually start learning. Also just a personal update, I am finally 20 guys! Out of my teens yet still a child.
As seen on our instagram, I've gotten these boots a month or so back and finally got the chance to wear them a few days ago on my birthday dinner with the besties. So now here's the review.
Morning of work, I received a lovely present from asos. Too bad I had to wait till I got home to open it.
Say Hi to Cookie
Stats & Review:
ASOS:
Pricing: 8/10 (Got this on sale + extra 10?% off). I think it ended up being $40 something.
Packaging and Delivery - 10/10. As always, Asos delivery is quick and arrives in a postage bag. They recently changed the design of the packaging. Props to that, looks much better than the plain black Asos postal bag they had before. This one even comes with handles! Took around 4-5 working days to Australia.
Customer Service (CS) - Didn't contact CS this time. All was well. The only thing I might be able to comment on is that anytime you ask them on their twitter or email about stock or restocking, they just have the generic answer 'we don't know but keep checking our website for new products'.
Previous experiences 10/10 - Receive the same experience every time with Asos, very consistent great service.
Y.R.U Clueless Boots:
Size - US 6/UK 4
Colour - Black
Material - Synthetic leather (not sure why dolls kill says leather upper, every other site says vegan leather), man made sole. 1 inch platform, 2.5 inch heel.
Packaging - 10/10. Came with wrapping paper and shoe stuffing.
Fitting - Like I said before I can't give an accurate fitting, only for those who have small feet like me (US 3/UK2). I will say it does seem to run a tad narrow even though my feet are a lot smaller in length. I don't think I have particularly wide feet so I'll say it runs a tad narrow. When I'm wearing them it pushes on the sides of my ankle, it'll be best to wear higher socks with these.
Comfort - 7/10. Based on my recent wears with these boots, its not as comfortable as I would've hoped. When I'm wearing them it pushes on the sides of my ankle, it'll be best to wear higher socks with these as they most likely won't stretch due to it being synthetic leather.
Here's a photo of them on!
Taken on the day I visited the Funkis sale.
Stay tuned for a post with visuals, on my visit to the Funkis' Paddington store & their annual garage sale! Let me know if you have any questions! I'll be happy to answer them.

Till next time.

x

New Vagabond Dioon Fisherman from Urban Outfitters+ Review

Say Hi to my Pastel Vagabonds, the perfect combination.
Ash:
I love Vagabonds shoes. They're stylish, comfortable and long lasting. My staple go to boots will always be my Leather Dioon 001 by Vagabond. I go uni in them, I go work in them, I go everywhere in them. This time I'm going pastel. Usually I only go pastel with hair dyes but look at them, they are perfection yet sizes too big. Yep sizes too big. Just letting you guys know now I am a Women's US/AU size 4 or a US Kids 3 so I can't really give accurate tips for fitting. I'll get my sister whos a size US 6? to 6.5? to give them a try and see how that is. I'll update back with results! My Dioon 001 are actually in a size US6 and they fit me fine wearing thick socks.
But anyway onto the new shoes. I got them in a 6.5US - All shoes I wear are always too big for me anyway so why not. Plus it was the only size Urban Outfitters was going to ship to Aus and they were on sale so I bought them.
Here are the visuals :) + Stats/Deets and Review down below!

Hey guys!
Been awhile since our last post. So much crap going on with Uni and Erica also got a new job!!! Congrats brah!!! :D So yeah we haven't been able to plan much recently.
However, this past week my packages finally came. So happy it arrived safety, considering the incident that happened with StarTrack recently...
This is going to be a long ass rant with some raging/*** so I'm just going to warn you now, read when you have enough time.

Package No. Something. Denim Review.

Jeans, jeans, jeans

Recently I've been obsessing over them second-skin high waist denim. Yes, it works so well with crop tops & petites like me (insert 'too happy' emoji).

So on my search for a good pair of jeans, on AUD currency sites (that USD exchange rate is taking me nowhere) I come across SurfStitch's (SS) sale. Stocking all the denim brands I love, from Cheap Monday to Lee, it was too easy to click that add to cart. In the end I purchased a pair of A.Brand & another pair of DrDenim. I'm just going to put this out there, I have an ex-pair of Dr Denim Plenty which I also received from SurfStitch twice. Simply both times I received it, the stitching near the crotch of the jeans were always somewhat busted. Sigh... they fitted so damn good as well. I hope this isn't always the case for Dr Denim second skin denims cause I ordered the Solitaire from SS few days back. I'll put a review up once I've got my hands on the 2nd package, so keep a watch out for that!
Anyway here are the photos of the denims on!

A.Brand, S - 7.

A.Brand, loving the dip dye wash. S - 7.
Fits perfect.
Dr Denim Regina, S - XS, 24/30
Dr Denim Regina - XS, 24/30
Fits perfect.
Comments:
I range from a size 6-8 or XS/S depending on the brand, though the best fit for me is probably a 7, So hard to find them in between sizes...
I'll say the A.Brand pair fits perfect, doesn't run small or large, just perfect.
Dr Denim tends to run a tad bigger from my experiences. To note, I also heard Dr Denims have a tendency to expand after the first wash so go small I guess.
Those wondering the service of SurfStitch, based on all my 20+ orders with them. They've been on spot every time, great prices, service and awesome postage time.

That's all for today x
